Startup Fundraising: The Art and Science of Securing Capital

This hands-on workshop will demystify the process of startup fundraising. We will discuss various sources of capital as well as how investors think. We will outline a proven method that addresses investors' concerns based on Zafar's experience of raising over $70 million from venture and angel investors for his companies.

Bring your business plans! Zafar will select several from the class for review and group discussion. Participants will be guided in creating and practicing their own "elevator pitch."

You will learn:

  • How to write a business plan

  • How to create a compelling fundraising pitch

  • How to find and secure money for your startup

  • Who venture capitalists are and how to approach them

  • What investors look for in a venture

  • Trick questions you are likely to be asked and how to respond effectively

Cost: $179

Workshops Include:

  • Participant workbooks

  • Review and feedback on your elevator pitch

  • Certificate of completion
